Our General & Preventative Services

During a routine visit, our team will clean your teeth, remove plaque buildup, and leave you with a polished, shining smile. Using digital 3D X-rays, our dentists will check in between and around every tooth for cavities, decay, and infections. We personalize your general dental treatment plan and tailor it to your unique smile. Our dentists are happy to discuss dental implants and cosmetic procedures with you, as well.

Emergency Dentist

If you’ve suffered from a mouth injury or are currently experiencing pain, call us at 605-692-9555. It’s essential that you receive prompt care to alleviate your pain and prevent further damage.

Pediatric Dentist

A lifetime of healthy smiles begins early in life. At Prairie Skies Family Dentistry, we treat patients of any age and encourage children to be seen within 6 months of their first tooth appearing. We believe in teaching young children how to take care of their teeth and have fun in the process. Your child’s comfort is of the utmost importance to us, and our team will do everything we can to make sure they’re at ease during treatment. We also work closely with families to answer any of their questions and help them instill good oral hygiene practices at home.

Root Canals

Serious cavities and injuries can cause infections in the inside layer of the tooth, known as the pulp. These infections can’t heal on their own, and they usually require root canals. During a root canal, your dentist will clean the infected tooth and disinfect the surrounding area. Your dentist will then seal off the area to prevent further infection, and in some cases, they may restore the tooth with a bond or dental crown.

Periodontal Treatment

It’s essential to receive regular dental cleanings to check for gingivitis, a mild form of gum disease. Gum disease, in the early stages, doesn’t always exhibit symptoms. If left untreated, it can progress into periodontitis. Periodontitis can quickly cause receding gum lines and bone loss. At Prairie Skies Family Dentistry, we prevent and treat early stages of periodontitis.
